Update: Yesterday, Stephanomics, a Bloomberg podcast, posted a new episode about the impact that COVID-19 has had on Black-owned business. You can listen to "Fresh Injustice for Black-Owned American Businesses" here.
Point. Blank. Period.
A lot of people turn away from Black-owned businesses due to implicit bias or conflating the fact that we are Black-owned businesses with being low quality (in a way, also implicit bias).
If these are the reasons that you haven' t done so, don't worry. I'm not here to make you NOT racist. That is a behavior you're going to have to undo with a lot of work. It's going to be painful, but I promise life is a little more beautiful without all that unwarranted and inherited hate in your heart.
But do you and I'll do me.
(Note: I made sure all of these have online stores to make it easier for you to support, as well! Also, Miss Rona is VERY much still out here, so online shopping is way safer.)
My Local Black-Owned Business Wishlist
You can find many more Black-owned businesses to support on Keep It Local OK's Black-Owned Business List, including restaurants, event planners, florists, and tax services like our friends over at NextGen Tax Services. We're excited to be included and hope that you will currently and continue to support Black-owned businesses online and in your area!
